About The Position

Sportserve is seeking a talented IT Networks Engineer to join their global Technology team. This is a contractor role within a challenging, fast-paced, and exciting environment. The successful candidate will be part of the Network Engineering team, responsible for improving the stability, resilience, and scale of services through automation, testing, and engineering. Key responsibilities include ensuring technical solutions are aligned across teams and that monitoring, logging, and alerting facilities are in place to consistently deliver value to customers.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a network architecture role, preferably at a leading telecommunications company, defining long-term, highly impactful strategies that include system development and platform integration
  • Expert-level knowledge in all areas of data networking, including Security, QoS, routing, and signaling protocols; e.g. BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS (RSVP-TE), AAA, SIP,SS7
  • Strong experience working with hybrid and Cloud Infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of routing, resilience and failover across cloud-integrated networks, including experience with private connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms
  • Experience supporting monitoring, logging, automation and operational stability across distributed network and cloud environments
  • Expert-level knowledge of SD-WAN/SDN-WAN, particularly as it applies to CP/FP abstraction within large-scale WAN environments, and the integration of these technologies across legacy constructs; working knowledge of message bus and orchestration platforms; e.g., Kafka, Kubernetes
  • Expert-level knowledge with technologies that increases our front line defence and optimises routing on the internet; eg. CDNs, WAFs, DDoS mitigation services
  • Experience working within various industry and standards bodies; e.g. IETF, IEEE, NANOG
  • Expert knowledge of defining and documenting complex technical solutions, and effectively communicating these concepts to highly varied audiences; e.g. product and software developers, sales personnel, leadership
  • Track record of successfully partnering with team members to define requirements and feature sets in a multi-vendor environment
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal direction in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Ability to influence without authority (both horizontally and vertically) analytical talent and leadership to achieve the goals of the business
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar engineering field, or equivalent experience required
