About The Position

As an IT/OT Network Administrator (m/f/d) with a focus on Cisco LAN technologies, you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of our corporate and production networks. You will work in both IT and OT environments, supporting business-critical production systems and the continuous development of our network infrastructure.

Requirements

Several years of practical experience (approx. 5 to 10 years) in the administration of IT/OT networks. Profound understanding of corporate networks and their operation.
Comprehensive experience as a Cisco LAN network specialist with a strong hands-on mentality. Very good knowledge in troubleshooting and fault resolution of complex network environments. Practical experience with enterprise campus networks. Confident use of professional monitoring solutions such as SolarWinds and ManageEngine OpManager. Demonstrable experience in the operation, maintenance, and further development of Cisco LAN infrastructures in IT and OT environments.
Experience in industrial network environments. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET, Modbus/TCP, and EtherNet/IP. Understanding of network segmentation and secure, controlled communication between IT and OT networks.
Profound knowledge in the area of Cyber Security for IT/OT environments. Experience with network segmentation, firewall technologies, and secure access concepts. Knowledge of relevant solutions such as Cisco ISE, Fortinet, or Palo Alto. Familiarity with common security standards and frameworks such as NIST and ISO/IEC 27001.
Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS. Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure architectures and migration of on-premises environments to the cloud. Experience in cloud networking. Knowledge of modern monitoring and observability solutions such as ManageEngine OpManager, Datadog, or SolarWinds is an advantage.
Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are desirable. However, demonstrable practical experience in enterprise network environments is crucial.
Strong communication skills and service-oriented approach. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working. High degree of initiative and the ability to operate confidently in complex and cross-departmental environments.
Occasional willingness to travel to support projects and locations.
Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken. Further foreign language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

Network Monitoring & Availability: Monitoring of LAN and WLAN infrastructure with professional monitoring solutions like ManageEngine OpManager and SolarWinds, analysis of performance trends and identification of anomalies, initiation of preventive and corrective measures to ensure high network availability in production environments.
Network Infrastructure Management: Planning, configuration, and operation of Cisco-based network components. Support of Cisco Catalyst Switches, industrial Ethernet switches, wireless controllers, and access points. Ensuring compliance with internal standards and best network practices.
IT/OT Network Operation: Operation, support, and maintenance of IT and OT network infrastructures, deployment and management of technologies such as MST, HSRP, and Multicast, ensuring stable and fault-tolerant network connectivity for industrial communication protocols like PROFINET, Modbus/TCP, and EtherNet/IP.
Participation in Network Projects: Support for network rollouts, modernization, and infrastructure projects, involvement in network designs, segmentation measures, and security initiatives, accompanying hardware introductions and technical implementations.
3rd Level Support & Error Analysis: Analysis and resolution of complex network disruptions within the scope of 3rd level support. Close collaboration with IT, OT, and production areas to ensure stable operation. Minimization of downtime through sustainable troubleshooting and optimization measures.
