About The Position

The IT Manager is a leadership role responsible for oversight of the front-line IT functions. In addition, this role actively participates in strategic planning and goal setting, and will have a direct hand in leading our team to achieve those goals. The IT Manager acts as the subject matter expert in matters related to several IT functions. Position acts as a leader to IT & System Administrators to ensure end user needs are being fulfilled. Working with the IT Director and Chief Technology Officer, they will have an active role in creating a big picture and vision to ensure the company is set up for future success. This position may be located in Sioux Falls or Pierre, SD

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in IT related field required, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an IT role, with preference given to those working in a help desk or banking atmosphere.
  • Extensive knowledge/familiarity with IT best practices, providing a forward-looking approach to solving problems.
  • Previous management of projects, departments, or other supervisory roles required.
  • Candidate must pass a pre-employment screening including credit history and criminal record check.

Responsibilities

  • Directly oversees the front-line IT staff, ensuring end user satisfaction and project deadlines are being met.
  • Acts as subject matter expert on IT related functions and policies, and offers advice and goal updates to executive management.
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of IT industry trends and best practices, specifically in regards to information security, server administration, and patch management.
  • Offers solutions to forward-looking problems, with a direct hand in turning those concepts into reality to prepare company for future success.
  • Collaborates with key business units across the organization in matters related to improving efficiencies and mitigating potential risks.
  • Plays a key part in rolling out companywide system updates, including large projects related to potential future M&A activity.
  • Establishes and monitors staff performance and development goals, assigns accountabilities, sets objectives, establishes priorities, conducts annual performance reviews, and administers salary adjustments.
  • Travels to remote sites as needed to support operations as necessary to achieve goals (Travel required - approximately 15% of time).
