About The Position

The IT Manager oversees the company’s technology operations across five locations, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT services for all employees. This role leads the Help Desk, Systems Administration, and IT Security functions, providing technical support, maintaining infrastructure and systems, and protecting company data and technology assets. The IT Manager is responsible for managing IT priorities, troubleshooting complex issues, implementing technology improvements, maintaining cybersecurity practices, and ensuring consistent IT standards across all locations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • MCSD or other technical IT certification
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management, access control, and data protection
  • Experience managing VMware virtualized environments
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco and Ubiquiti UniFi networks, firewalls, wireless systems, and VPNs
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure, backups, and disaster recovery
  • Strong leadership, policy development, documentation, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily IT operations across all five company locations.
  • Establish and maintain consistent IT standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Prioritize IT projects, service requests, and technology initiatives based on business needs.
  • Manage IT vendors, service providers, software licenses, and technology-related contracts.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget and monitor technology-related expenses.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations to improve business operations.
  • Oversee the Help Desk function and ensure timely, professional support for employees.
  • Establish service standards, escalation procedures, and ticket management processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and offboarding of employees, including equipment, accounts, and system access.
  • Monitor recurring technical issues and implement solutions to reduce service disruptions.
  • Promote excellent customer service and effective communication within the IT team.
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and performance of servers, networks, cloud systems, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, available, properly maintained, and appropriately documented.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and system configurations.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, hardware deployments, software implementations, and technology projects.
  • Maintain appropriate backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Monitor system performance and address potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity practices designed to protect company systems, data, and users.
  • Monitor and address security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
  • Manage security tools, including endpoint protection, firewalls, email security, access controls, and other security technologies.
  • Maintain appropriate user access and authentication controls.
  • Coordinate security awareness and cybersecurity training for employees.
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures related to information security, data protection, and acceptable technology use.
  • Assist with security assessments, audits, incident response, and regulatory or compliance requirements.
  • Lead IT projects from planning through implementation and follow-up.
  • Partner with leadership and department managers to understand business needs and develop technology solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the employee technology experience.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions.
  • Document systems, processes, configurations, and procedures to support continuity and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead, coach, and develop IT team members.
  • Establish performance expectations and accountability for the IT team.
  • Assign and prioritize work based on organizational needs.
  • Foster a responsive, collaborative, and service-oriented IT culture.
  • Ensure appropriate cross-training and coverage for critical IT functions.
