About The Position

We are looking to expand and improve our IT systems to power the solutions that help drive operational efficiency. We are seeking an experienced IT manager who has the technological skills to help us achieve this goal. This person will analyze current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and mentor current IT staff. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of IT and cybersecurity planning and operations, experience as an IT manager in the manufacturing industry, and advanced technology knowledge to keep us on the industry forefront. The IT manager will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and a long-term impact on our overall business objectives and growth.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in IT management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Deep knowledge of ERPs and enterprise solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Active Directory, etc.), current and emerging IT and IIoT technologies, backup and disaster recovery procedures, cybersecurity, and cloud management.
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking, effective communications and people management skills, project management and organizational change management skills, ability to think “outside the box”.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in information technology or computer science.
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Industry-standard management-level certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the technology plan in coordination with leadership and operating departments, participate in and facilitate the IT steering committee meetings, develop and manage the long-term IT capital and operational budget, and track and report on the performance of the IT function.
  • Establish, implement, and ensure compliance with the company’s information security program.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, integration, security, and supportability of essential IT systems and services, including IT infrastructure (network, server, storage, operating systems, databases), security tools, enterprise applications and services, data repositories and analytic tools, and end-user devices.
  • Take responsibility for or provide expert advice on projects and solutions within the larger business initiative.
  • Manage business-critical IT tasks and systems administration.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, software, and vendors.
  • Manage the hardware and software inventory.
  • Take an active role in the requirements definition, vendor selection, and implementation of a new ERP system. This includes working with the executive sponsor, project management office, business leadership, operating departments, and external consultants and vendors, to manage technology-related activities and provide expert technology advice to subject matter experts in other domains.
  • Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to improve business operations. This includes business and IT process automation, integration initiatives, and facilitating access to the data required by the business for operations and decision-making.
  • Ensure IT systems and services work together seamlessly to meet production needs.
  • Develop and maintain IT and cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Establish contractual agreements and SLAs with critical IT suppliers (vendors, service providers, managed service providers).
  • Analyze cross-departmental processes, technologies, and suppliers continually to identify improvements.
  • Prepare cost–benefit analyses when improvement initiatives are necessary and monitor suppliers to ensure that service and value meet or exceed business needs.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed.
  • Develop and manage IT staff for IT operations and improvement initiatives and provide feedback/evaluations of performance on a quarterly basis.
  • Develop, test and execute data backup, disaster recovery and incident response plans.
  • In coordination with operating departments, develop and enforce the architectural framework for secure integration of operational technologies in the plant floor (e.g., PLM, label scanning and printing) and supporting technologies (e.g., video surveillance, access control, public addressing), as well as for integrations with third parties and external applications and services (e.g., EDI, APIs, etc.).
