This role is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle for the software development team, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, development, performance evaluation, and retention, in partnership with the IT Director. The IT Manager will manage, mentor, and develop software engineers, fostering a team culture of trust, accountability, shared ownership, and continuous learning. This position also owns the management of in-house software development, including scope, quality, and timelines, and coordinates outside consulting resources as needed. The role leads agile development practices, partners with Product Owners on roadmap planning, and leads team planning sessions to set clear, measurable goals. Collaboration with corporate stakeholders and end users is key to delivering technology solutions that improve service, satisfaction, and efficiency. The IT Manager will engage with engineers on system architecture and design, lead design reviews, and own technical standards. They will also own the quality of software delivered, establish standards, and lead the response to production issues. Defining and tracking key quality and reliability metrics, collaborating with IT leadership on security and system standards, and co-owning the financial management of the software development area are also core responsibilities. Staying current on emerging technologies and translating research into actionable recommendations is expected.
