About The Position

Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and hands-on project assignments while supporting Builders FirstSource's digital transformation efforts. Work is performed under direct supervision. This internship provides an opportunity to gain real-world experience at the intersection of field operations, technology, and digital product development while helping drive adoption of myBLDR, the company's digital platform.

Requirements

  • Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Management or a related field with a general understanding of business and digital technology.
  • Open to students at any academic level (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student).
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Interest in digital transformation, technology adoption, business operations, and customer engagement.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable interacting with field personnel, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of change management concepts and user adoption strategies.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various projects in support of the Digital Field Engagement team.
  • Support initiatives designed to increase adoption and utilization of the myBLDR digital platform.
  • Conduct outreach and engagement activities with field teams within an assigned market area.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze user feedback, adoption data, and operational insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify barriers to digital adoption and recommend solutions to improve user experience and engagement.
  • Translate field feedback into actionable product recommendations and business requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project planning discussions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Digital, IT, Product Management, Sales, and Operations, to support project goals.
  • Assist with change management initiatives that help drive digital transformation throughout the organization.
  • Develop and present findings, recommendations, and measurable outcomes at the conclusion of the internship.
