IT Internship - Irving, TX (Summer 2027)
About The Position
The AI/ML Intern will support the development, testing, and deployment of AI-driven solutions that improve productivity, automate business processes, and enhance decision-making across Builders FirstSource. The intern will contribute to strategic AI initiatives, including Trend Genie, Online Genie, Natural Language Query (NLQ) solutions, intelligent search capabilities, knowledge assistants, and other enterprise AI use cases leveraging emerging technologies. Responsibilities may include gathering and organizing data, supporting AI and machine learning projects, participating in research and prototyping activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and assisting with project analysis and reporting. The purpose of this internship is to gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments. Work is performed under direct supervision while supporting AI and machine learning initiatives that drive innovation and business value across Builders FirstSource.
Requirements
- Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Preferred junior or senior standing; other class levels will be considered.

Responsibilities
- Assist with various projects in support of the Information Technology department and enterprise AI initiatives.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data to support AI, machine learning, and departmental projects.

- Assist with research, testing, and prototyping activities related to AI-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and business objectives.
