The AI/ML Intern will support the development, testing, and deployment of AI-driven solutions that improve productivity, automate business processes, and enhance decision-making across Builders FirstSource. The intern will contribute to strategic AI initiatives, including Trend Genie, Online Genie, Natural Language Query (NLQ) solutions, intelligent search capabilities, knowledge assistants, and other enterprise AI use cases leveraging emerging technologies. The intern will support projects such as Trend Genie, Online Genie, Natural Language Query solutions, and other intelligent automation initiatives while helping advance strategic AI efforts across the organization. Requirements
- Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Preferred junior or senior standing; other class levels will be considered.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and cross-functional teams
- Comfortable collaborating and communicating with others in a professional environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities
- Assist with various projects in support of the Information Technology department and enterprise AI initiatives.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data to support AI, machine learning, and departmental projects.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project discussions.
- Assist with research, testing, and prototyping activities related to AI-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and business objectives.
