About The Position

The IT Intern will assist the Technical Services team in providing frontline support for end users, performing basic PC hardware troubleshooting, and managing IT assets. This role is ideal for students or entry-level candidates seeking hands-on experience in IT operations and customer support

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC components
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to lift and move computer and printer hardware (up to 40 lbs.)
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Working towards, or recently completed, a 2- or 4-year degree in an Information Technology related field.
  • Customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Helpdesk Support Respond to user requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
  • Assist with password resets, account unlocks, and basic application support.
  • Document issues and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior technicians when necessary.
  • Basic PC Hardware Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve common hardware issues (keyboards, monitors, cables)
  • Assist with installation and configuration of desktops, laptops, and printers.
  • Perform routine checks on hardware functionality and connectivity.
  • Asset Management Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets (PCs, printers, peripherals)
  • Tag and track equipment through its lifecycle (deployment → retirement)
  • Assist with updating asset records in management systems.
