About The Position

This position supports the design and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions through the creation of data warehouses, data marts, data stores, and report writing. This will give the intern gainful experience and knowledge in the Programmer-SQL/Business Intelligence field. Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is a not-for-profit, nationally accredited rehabilitation hospital serving thousands of children and adults each year through inpatient, outpatient, sub-acute rehabilitation, orthotics and prosthetics, and home and community programs.

Requirements

  • Completed course work in IT or Informatics field with an emphasis in programming
  • Student should be a junior or senior level student at an accredited college.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to create graphs, pivot tables, forms and databases and summarize results.
  • Effective, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and responsibility, perform multiple tasks, attend to detail, meet deadlines, adapt quickly to changes, and respond well to feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Programmer Analyst on various projects including but not limited to: Providing solutions to client defined data and reporting needs.
  • Analyzing manual processes and designing programs to automate those processes.
  • Designing and implementing organizational and departmental dashboards.
  • Contributing to the development of estimates, project plans, and milestones.
  • Collaboration with others to test and resolve issues with deliverables.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service behaviors consistent with organizational and departmental standards.
  • Consistently promotes teamwork and direct communication with co-workers.
  • Deals discretely and sensitively with confidential information.
  • Contributes by identifying problems and seeking solutions.
  • Promotes patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
