About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking IT Infrastructure & Cloud Architect to join their team. In this role, the architect will lead the design and development of enterprise-scale cloud technology solutions that align with system needs and organizational priorities. They will help shape the cloud technology direction while guiding key technical decisions across areas such as scalability, security, and infrastructure efficiency—ensuring seamless integration between on-premises systems and cloud (including multi-cloud) environments. As part of the IT Infrastructure team, this role offers the opportunity to make a broad organizational impact. The architect will collaborate closely with IT and Operations leadership, the security team, and cross-functional stakeholders to enhance performance, strengthen reliability, and advance security across their cloud and on-premises technology ecosystems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in a technical role managing a combination of the following may be considered in lieu of degree: Virtual and physical server hardware, software, and application delivery mechanisms; Microsoft server operating systems and software; Programming languages; Networking, VPNs, and Routing; SAN and NAS administration; Data management; Data protection.
  • 5-8 years of experience in networking, IT architecture, information security, virtualization, or other related information technology field is required.
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, cloud administration (Azure and/or AWS), and/or virtualized application management is required.
  • 2 years of experience with multi-domain and multi-site Active Directory structure and management is required.
  • 2 years of experience with networking concepts including firewalls, VPNs, network protocols, and routing is required.
  • 2 years of experience with security frameworks and compliance standards is required.
  • 2 years of experience working across multi-disciplined teams and subject matter experts to ensure well-integrated sets of solutions adhering to enterprise standards is required.
  • Download speeds must be at least 20 Mb or higher.
  • Upload speeds must be at least 6 Mb or higher.
  • Latency/Ping must be under 100 ms.

Nice To Haves

  • 100 Mb or higher download speeds preferred.
  • 10 Mb or higher upload speeds preferred.
  • Latency/Ping under 60 ms preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure, implementing security measures, and optimizing cloud performance using tools like Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud monitoring solutions is preferred.
  • Microsoft Certifications (365, Endpoint Manager, SCCM, etc.) is preferred.
  • VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM) or VMware Horizon Cloud certification is preferred.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is preferred.
  • ITIL Certification is preferred.
  • Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+ is preferred.
  • Public Cloud Administration Certification(s) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of enterprise-scale cloud technology solutions.
  • Align cloud technology solutions with system needs and organizational priorities.
  • Guide key technical decisions regarding scalability, security, and infrastructure efficiency.
  • Ensure seamless integration between on-premises systems and cloud environments (including multi-cloud).
  • Collaborate with IT and Operations leadership, the security team, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Enhance performance, strengthen reliability, and advance security across cloud and on-premises technology ecosystems.
