About The Position

The Tech Support Intern provides entry-level technical support and assists the IT team with day-to-day operations across Fathom’s multi-site manufacturing and corporate environments. This role offers firsthand exposure to enterprise IT systems and service desk operations while supporting users under the guidance of senior IT staff.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Basic understanding of hardware, operating systems, and networking
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to IT ticketing systems
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory or Azure
  • Interest in manufacturing or industrial IT environments
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Basic troubleshooting experience with Windows 10/11

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and basic network issues.
  • Assist in resolving service desk tickets including password resets and device setup.
  • Support users across office and production environments.
  • Assist with device provisioning, inventory, and asset tracking.
  • Support Microsoft 365 user setup and troubleshooting.
  • Follow IT security policies and report concerns.
  • Collaborating with IT team and participating in training.
  • Lead several small projects for the IT Operations Team related to network documentation, asset inventorying, knowledge base population, and AD clean-up.
