About The Position

FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. We provide customers leading-edge support from prototype to production. This role serves as the primary point of contact for IT issues, handling tickets, phone calls, and emails to ensure smooth operations. The specialist will manage Helpdesk tickets from initiation to resolution or escalation, maintaining clear communication with requestors regarding progress and status. Responsibilities include deploying hardware, managing user accounts and network access, and coordinating equipment repair with external vendors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus 0-2 years of relevant technical experience
  • 2 years+ experience working in a Windows environment
  • Focuses on continuous learning to further IT knowledge and career development
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 7, Office 2010, and Exchange 2013 mailbox
  • Experience with using and troubleshooting Outlook 2010 within a network environment (permissions, calendar sharing, delegation)
  • Basic User & Security Group Active Directory administration
  • Basic PC network connectivity - Ethernet, TCP/IP and Remote Access VPN
  • File server folder knowledge such as mapped and UNC Drives
  • Experience with PC imaging software
  • Solid problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications issues
  • Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Windows 7 (MCSA)

Responsibilities

  • Be the point of contact for tickets, phone calls, and email regarding IT issues and support
  • Handle Helpdesk tickets through resolution or escalation and take ownership of issues with follow-up communication to the requestor of progress and status
  • Log telephone calls to the Helpdesk ticketing systems, if needed
  • Deploy PC hardware, computer peripherals, scanners, desk phones, and mobile devices (iOS, Android)
  • Create accounts and configure network access rights as part of the on-boarding process
  • Coordinate the repair and maintenance of office printers and computing equipment with outside vendors
