About The Position

NOVA Computer Solutions is a small, vertical-focused, comprehensive MSP, trusted to provide technology support for local businesses throughout Northern Virginia, Metro Washington DC, and Maryland. We’re constantly growing our team to help us provide even better support, advice, and assistance and we’re looking to hire a Field Technician that’s able to assist us with exceeding client expectations. The purpose of the Field Technician is to establish trusted relationships while providing onsite and remote support to partners. This will include coordinating with other departments, documenting processes, and recommending necessary updates in a timely manner. This position requires self-motivation and the ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • 2+ years of hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Experience running cable and installing data drops
  • Experience mounting hardware
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Self-motivated to work alone or in a team
  • Ability to research solutions to problems
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record and work vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and safely use ladders
  • Ability to safely navigate offices under construction
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical support with the ability to assist remotely, if necessary
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and provide solution-based recommendations
  • Build and configure equipment for internal staff and external partners
  • Work with senior team members to analyze and resolve problems
  • Maintain clear documentation for each service and project ticket
  • Work with vendor support as needed
  • Daily travel to partner offices within areas of Maryland, DC, and Virginia
  • Operate a work van
  • Keep work vehicles and inventory clean and organized
  • Provide exceptional customer service
