The IT Field Services Specialist I is responsible for coordinating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting incoming employee calls. This role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various IT equipment including fiber cables, cabinets, system devices, servers, and peripheral equipment. The specialist will also assist in setting up and conducting extensive controlled testing on new technologies within the facility, and interact with corporate IT on escalated issues. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and performing general maintenance, testing, installation, and upgrades to computer systems and peripheral equipment. The role also encompasses the general administration, installation, and relocation of all telephone systems, establishing user IDs and security levels, and providing systems support for automated distribution equipment like printers, scanners, and conveyor systems. The specialist will prepare status reports and documentation, provide timely resolution or escalation of problems, and offer case status updates to management and end-users. Maintaining effective relationships with users and implementing standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines related to IT support are also key aspects of this position.
