About The Position

The IT Enterprise Systems and Services Manager reports to the CIO and is a member of the IT Leadership Team. The role leads two IT teams (11 employees and 1 contractor) and is accountable for core enterprise IT services, including infrastructure (network, servers, and data storage), the service desk, and audio-visual systems. This position owns day-to-day operations and service delivery for global networks, data center operations, cloud services, and end-user support. A critical component of the role is providing direction and leadership for Talos Offshore IT that enables safe and reliable operations across Gulf of America producing assets (approximately 30 facilities). The role is responsible for more than 50% of the overall IT budget and provides input into the negotiation of IT service and project contracts. The position chairs the IT Change Approval Board (CAB) and is authorized to approve operational system changes with potential enterprise impact. The role is expected to lead, coach, and mentor IT managers and their teams to deliver secure, reliable, and continuously improving services while optimizing cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fifteen or more years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • Five to seven years of leadership responsibilities.
  • Excellent understanding of all the basic aspects of Information Technology systems and a proven track record of project delivery pertaining to infrastructure and applications upgrades and change.
  • Experience in implementing cloud computing and cyber security technologies.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning, Data Analytics, IoT, Robotic Process Automation, Mobility, Application Development and DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically to anticipate and prioritize work in support of maximizing value of existing assets as well as accessing new opportunities
  • Motivated, and a self-starter with a hard-working approach.
  • Promote/undertake work activities in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably five or more years of experience in large, cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.

  • Practical experience in developing and implementing a high-performing ITSM environment and knowledge of "what good looks like".
  • Deliver effective service management through the definition and adoption of a governance practice that uses KPIs and metrics to track and measure the quality of service. Integrates them with key accountabilities to ensure consistency of approach and continual service improvement.
  • Strong vendor management and partner relation skills to identify and leverage resources internal and external to the enterprise to enhance capabilities that support business objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the Enterprise Systems workforce.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean/Six Sigma) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead two teams through two direct reports covering infrastructure operations (network, servers, and data storage) and the service desk.
  • Set the mission and direction for Enterprise Systems and Services, building a service-focused culture grounded in continual improvement.
  • Provide clear operational and project status updates to senior leadership, including risks, impacts, and mitigation actions.
  • Chair the IT Change Approval Board (CAB) and provide technical leadership on changes and projects that impact enterprise availability, security, and operational risk.
  • Ensure operational work and projects follow agreed intake, prioritization, and delivery processes, coordinating with the IT PMO and work intake mechanisms.
  • Own the service strategy and technical roadmap, aligning priorities with IT and enterprise strategic plans.
  • Partner with IT leadership on service portfolio governance to prioritize demand, capacity, and funding.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs. Ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and can respond with the agility required to address changing business priorities.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating (OPEX) and capital (CAPEX) budgets for Enterprise IT, ensuring alignment to IT and enterprise strategy and performance to plan.
  • Defines, develops and manages a comprehensive and integrated IT service management landscape, based on best-practice processes, disciplines and related toolsets.
  • Operates a formal governance mechanism to ensure that services can continue to be delivered in line with the agreed-on business outcomes.
  • Use influence and negotiation across IT and the business to drive cost-effective, secure, and scalable shared solutions.
  • Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies (including AI and edge computing) and recommend where adoption improves security, reliability, and business outcomes.
  • Champion Enterprise Systems and Services involvement in IT innovation efforts, including piloting and scaling solutions that unlock business value.
  • Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the business, including the full life cycle of technical architecture, infrastructure engineering, infrastructure operations and IT service support.
  • Directs the development of Enterprise systems sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
  • Drives the adoption and commitment to continual service improvement.
  • Adopt new techniques and practices, such as Agile and service integration and management to complement the change in focus as the organization's maturity develops.
  • Serves on IT planning and policymaking committees; drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure that IT delivers value to the enterprise.
