Under the direction of the IT Manager, this role administers, supports, maintains, and/or develops IT/OT systems and hardware in the manufacturing facility. This includes responsibilities for the production line, shipping/receiving, conference rooms, and office areas. The IT Engineer will administer, support, and improve manufacturing (MES), shipping, and customer broadcast systems, as well as production automation solutions and Operation Technology (OT) from HMIs and control panels. The role involves administering and supporting Microsoft Windows Servers (including clustering), Microsoft Windows clients, LAN, WAN, switches, and routers. Additionally, the IT Engineer will support and mentor the IT Analyst and Controls Engineers, and provide support for applications such as Microsoft Office, MS Outlook, SAP, Activity Director, Domain Controller, and other operational applications. The position also includes administering, supporting, and improving hardware such as servers, PCs, printers, barcode printers, barcode scanners, and touch screens. The IT Engineer will provide second-level support for complex IT and automation issues escalated by the team, identify opportunities to improve plant technology, streamline processes, and enhance productivity. Key responsibilities also include maintaining data backup and disaster recovery plans, enforcing network security and compliance policies, and maintaining enterprise anti-virus and web filtering software. The role requires maintaining operating system and software updates per company guidelines, developing Microsoft SQL reports, maintaining databases, and developing/maintaining groupware applications (Microsoft SharePoint, MS Outlook). The IT Engineer will also administer the help desk system. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, requiring the individual to display a positive attitude towards safety, work safely, and follow all Company safety policies and procedures, including complying with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. This includes ensuring a safe environment for employees and visitors, identifying and correcting hazards, and responding to and investigating injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, and property damage. Reporting on operational downtime is also a key responsibility. The role requires collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers, Controls Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Production Supervisors, and other internal staff. Active participation in the division’s safety program, including workplace inspections and accident investigations, is expected. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.
