About The Position

The Audiovisual Engineer will provide day-to-day support, monitoring, maintenance, and utilization of Q-SYS and Microsoft Teams Room integrated collaboration systems in AYI/QSC’s Costa Mesa office and the Southern California region. This role will also, in an ongoing capacity, support the Manager of AV & Collaboration in local area site surveys, system design, coordination of installation activities, system commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, pre-release testing, and end user training. Must be comfortable in a public and private facing, fast paced, and dynamic corporate executive environment.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a technical/engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Avixa CTS, CTS-D/I preferred
  • Q-SYS Level 1 certified, Level 2 preferred
  • Dante Level 1 certified, Level 2 preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the AV industry with emphasis in systems operation, maintenance, and design
  • Minium 3 years’ Installation and Commissioning Experience with Q-SYS systems or similar
  • Minimum 1 year experience supporting Microsoft Teams Room systems or similar
  • In-depth understanding of audio, video and control principles and practices.
  • Understanding of standard networking protocols and best practices
  • Strong understanding of and experience with collaboration platforms and products
  • Proven success in working cross-functionally both internally and externally
  • Must have strong verbal skills with consultative professional business acumen
  • Proficient writing skills
  • Creative thinker; comfortable with ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of Q-SYS and Microsoft Teams Room integrated collaboration systems.
  • Be the primary lead and point of contact for end-user needs and concerns.
  • Make determinations and provide direct support to AYI staff and guests.
  • Represent AV, as delegated, in meetings involving both internal and external customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the AV, IT, Facilities, and Associate Experience teams to ensure best in class user experiences.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance of AV systems.
  • Responsible for day-to-day AV and MTR incident response.
  • Enhance the reliability of our environment, ensuring continual improvement of existing and future deployments.
  • Support in-situ re-release testing of software and hardware products.
  • Provide training and technical support to end-users to maximize utilization of AV systems.
  • Supporting the Manager of AV & Collaboration in gathering voice of the customer input and feedback, conducting site surveys, participating in system design, coordinating installation activities, participating in system commissioning, troubleshooting and documenting system issues and escalating unresolvable issues in a prompt fashion.
  • Help document, maintain and promote a best-in-class AV & conference room environment.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure daily tracking, monitoring, and reporting of conference room and AV environments.
  • Assist as an AV & IT project member for conference room deployments and upgrades.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of AV equipment and services.
  • Providing scheduled and ad-hoc support, per above sections, to other Southern California area facilities on an as-needed basis. This would include occasional travel to the Corona, Ontario, and San Luis Obispo offices.
  • Provide hands-on operational support in the running of AV events both on-site/in-person and virtually, including the usage of any audio, video, or AV equipment used in the operation of the event.
  • Assist as an AV & IT project member for conference room deployments and upgrades.
