About The Position

The Law, Safety and Justice IT division is seeking an IT Developer III to join the Application Development team. The team develops and supports applications for internal and external customers that enable business processes and services for all Law, Safety and Justice departments and functions. As a member of an agile software development team, the candidate should have knowledge of software development principles and be able to participate in the analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, deployment, and support of custom applications.

Requirements

Six years or more of technology experience.
Two-year college/vocational technical degree in a technology field or approved information technology certificate and five years or more of IT experience.
Completion of five college/vocational technical technology courses or completion of an approved IT Hennepin County internship and five years or more of IT experience.
Bachelor's degree in a technology field and three years or more of IT experience.
Master's degree in information technology and one year or more of IT experience.

Responsibilities

Communicate using strong written and verbal communication skills (technical and non-technical).
Establish effective working relationships with other information technology staff and users.
Participate in developing and supporting applications that are based on common technologies such as Angular, C#, Microsoft .NET, HTML, Java, JavaScript, SQL, and XML.
Collaborate with development team members and customers to rapidly build and support applications in an agile framework.
Work with developers, architects, and business analysts to design and create APIs, web services, reusable software, and application components.
Work with quality assurance analysts to develop application components based on testable criteria.
Develop user interface solutions for web-based applications following county and industry standards for usability and accessibility.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other IT partners to resolve complex and critical issues.
Create and maintain application documentation in user guides, knowledge base articles, wikis, and other repositories.
