About The Position

The IT Delivery Manager leads a blended onshore and offshore engineering team and owns end-to-end delivery of cloud-based and AI/ML platform initiatives. The role includes developing and scaling capabilities such as AWS SageMaker and internally developed solutions, and translating business and technology priorities into delivery plans covering scope, dependencies, risks, and resource needs across a shared services model that supports multiple lines of business. The manager establishes structured delivery planning, tracking, and reporting; communicates data-driven status and risks to stakeholders and leadership; and partners with engineering, product, and business teams to align priorities and support platform adoption. The role also addresses blockers and continuous improvement, monitors delivery performance, supports staffing, resource allocation, and budget planning, and ensures technology, risk, and security standards are followed while delivering scalable solutions. Vanguard uses a hybrid working model for the majority of its crew members, combining flexibility with in-person learning, collaboration, and connection. Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in IT delivery, engineering management, or program delivery roles.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Proven people management experience leading engineering or technical teams.
Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end delivery outcomes, rather than only coordination or facilitation.
Strong experience with delivery planning and forecasting; managing timelines, dependencies, and risks; and communicating delivery status to senior leadership.
Experience working with Agile delivery teams and tools such as JIRA.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience delivering solutions on cloud platforms, primarily AWS.
Working experience with AI/ML platforms, preferably SageMaker.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of cloud-based and AI/ML platform initiatives, including continued development and scaling of AWS SageMaker and internally developed solutions.
Translate business and technology priorities into delivery plans covering scope, dependencies, risks, and resource needs across a shared services model supporting multiple lines of business.
Establish structured delivery planning, tracking, and reporting using tools such as JIRA to support predictable and reliable outcomes.
Communicate delivery status, timelines, risks, and progress clearly and with data to stakeholders and leadership.
Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to align priorities, enable platform adoption, and execute cross-functional initiatives.
Identify and mitigate risks, resolve blockers, and improve delivery processes and team effectiveness.
Monitor and report delivery performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and platform scalability.
Support operational planning, including staffing, resource allocation, and budget considerations.
Ensure adherence to technology, risk, and security standards while delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
