About The Position

Provides advanced technical support in researching, analyzing, and applying systems technology, including data architecture, integration capabilities, and database management. Provides technical and data leadership to development, production support, and business teams, and guides the organization in using current and future technologies to advance business initiatives. Assesses and develops long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with division leadership and data owners, and designs database solutions that meet business and technical requirements. Designs, builds, and maintains conceptual, logical, and physical database models. Plans and designs database conversions, migrations, integrations, maintenance, optimization, and production-monitoring processes. Explains data concepts in accessible language and works with data technologies including data warehouses, big data, advanced analytics, data visualization, and data virtualization, as well as structured and unstructured data.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of eight years of database administration or data architecture experience.
Hands-on experience with current versions of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including writing relational and multi-dimensional queries.
Ability to understand complex business problems and apply data solutions.
Knowledge and use of computer database concepts and administration, hardware, operating systems, system software, programming languages and tools, and testing techniques and tools.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to pursue continuing job-related training and education in technology or insurance.
Completion of the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People course.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience at an insurance company or on projects for an insurance company.
Designations in AINS, FLMI, and/or AIDM.
Designation in MCSE: Data Platform.
