About The Position

As an Architect on Baxter's IT Data Architecture team, you will design and build data services, pipelines, and application architecture that enable secure, scalable access to enterprise information. You will help evolve Mosaic, a critical internal platform, by developing new capabilities, integrations, and technical solutions. You will join a highly technical team focused on modern architecture, cloud technologies, and enterprise data solutions. The position is suited to a hands-on architect who can learn technologies quickly, solve complex technical challenges, ramp up on Mosaic, and deliver production features that provide value to Baxter's internal customers. This is a hybrid role based in Deerfield, Illinois. The position has an estimated base salary of $128,000–$176,000 and is eligible for discretionary bonuses. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
At least 5 years of experience in endpoint development, data engineering, software engineering, or architecture, including designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and services.
At least 5 years of experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or a comparable cloud computing environment.
Strong hands-on experience with Python, Flask, gUnicorn, SQL, Neo4j, Unix/Linux, and RESTful API development.
Experience with Docker, Redis, microservices, architectural patterns, and distributed application development.
Strong understanding of data privacy, security, governance principles, and modern application architecture.
Excellent communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing priorities.
Authorization to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, UI/UX development, or equivalent technologies.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field with 12 or more years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with 15 or more years of experience.
Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling.
AWS certification.
Architecture-related certifications.

Responsibilities

Design and implement data pipelines, APIs, and endpoints for secure, scalable access to enterprise data.
Develop and enhance Mosaic platform capabilities using Python, SQL, Neo4j, Unix, and modern software development practices.
Design and implement microservices and architectural solutions to improve scalability, reliability, and performance.
Build and maintain RESTful services for data access and enterprise applications across Baxter.
Use Docker and containerization technologies to improve portability, deployment, and operational efficiency.
Work with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
Incorporate data privacy, security, and governance requirements into application and architecture decisions.
Evaluate emerging technologies, AI tools, and machine learning capabilities to support platform innovation.
