About The Position

FEDITC is seeking an IT Customer Support Information Security Specialist (infosec) to work at Texarkana TX. A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position. This role involves serving as an Information Technology Specialist performing work, independently or as a member of a team, in the administration, development, delivery, and support of information technology (IT) systems and services. Duties include providing advice and guidance on a wide range of complex IT issues, interpreting IT policies, standards, and guidelines, conducting analyses and recommending resolution of complex issues, evaluating and recommending new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT services, testing and optimizing systems, networks, and data functionality, identifying and defining business or technical requirements, ensuring optimal use of commercially available products, evaluating proposals for IT products or services, preparing and presenting reports, representing the organization, and providing technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to customers who need advice, assistance, and training in applying hardware and software systems.
  • Troubleshoots complex problems.
  • Receives phone calls, walk-ins, or computer-generated service requests from Depot personnel.
  • Resolves a wide variety of problems, to include LAN and WAN technical problems emanating from windows operating systems, and all Depot-Wide applications such as LMP (Logistics Modernization Program) and/or Outlook Web Access and be familiar with Enterprise Email.
  • Tests and analyze computer hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems.
  • Routes unresolved problems to appropriate specialists for resolution, maintaining complete status of trouble call for reference and reporting purposes.
  • Monitors and maintains the standard client software and hardware configuration to maintain effective and timely response time.
  • Analyzes the types, frequency, and solutions necessary to correct problems and improve service desk operational procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Functions as a technical specialist for computer systems security for Army Information Systems.
  • Recommends and participates in the implementation of standard operating procedures, software and controls for various computer systems to ensure appropriate levels of security.
  • Is responsible for protection measures such as file access controls, software, and physical safeguards at central and remote sites.
  • Participates in the development or acquisition of systems software tools and support services for the assignment and management of passwords, user IDs, and other software security mechanisms.
  • Implements, coordinates and/or maintains programs, policies, and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems, networks, and data in an organization.
  • Implements and coordinates activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities.
  • Monitors and evaluates system compliance with IT security requirements in the development and operation of network systems.
  • Provides advice, guidance and training in IT security policies and procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge of IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices; to plan and carry out assignments; provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of IT issues; and interpret IT policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Extensive knowledge and skill in analytical methods and practices to conduct analyses of problems and/or issues affecting the specialty area and recommend approaches and procedures in resolution of multifaceted IT problems or in delivering IT services.
  • Detailed knowledge and skill in applying a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in customer organizations. Extensive knowledge in methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving IT systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of the interrelationships of computer hardware, software, and information systems in order to evaluate information systems security and assist technical and non-technical personnel in improving security.
  • Ability to identify vulnerabilities and recognize security breaches, attempted intrusions, and unauthorized accesses.
  • Ability to perform security scans, patch vulnerable systems, manage Host Based Security System (HBSS)/Trellix Endpoint Security and provide security reports as required.
  • Knowledge and skill in applying information systems security principles; methods and network operations and protocols; requirements analysis principles and methods; and security products and services.
  • Knowledge of and skill in oral and written communication techniques to prepare and present reports and recommendations; and represent the organization in interactions with other organizations.
