About The Position

Wellington County is seeking a co-op student for its IT division within the Office of the CAO. This student position, reporting to the Information Technology (IT) Operations Manager, involves working closely with experienced developers to assist in the development and support of in-house applications and reports. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in University or College co-op programme in a full time capacity, preferably in a Computer Science programme.
  • Experience in application support, software and database development is required.
  • Experience using C#/VB.net and SQL Server is required.
  • Working knowledge of configuring hardware and peripherals.
  • Knowledge of current Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL Reporting Services, Crystal Reports and JD Edwards Enterprise One are definite assets.
  • Familiarity with MSTest is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops and implements modifications to existing systems according to the established standards.
  • Writes unit tests for existing and new systems.
  • Provides technical support.
  • Performs technical analysis work including development, problem resolution and root cause analysis across multiple products and platforms.
  • Recommends solutions to enhance the automation and efficiency of operations and/or reduce costs.
  • Works in partnership with all members of the IT team in the development, implementation and testing of systems.
  • Prepares and maintains high quality technical documentation according to the department standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
