About The Position

Supports the procurement of IT hardware, software, and technology services. This role involves working with IT, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to source, evaluate, and purchase technology solutions. The IT Buyer ensures compliance with company standards, licensing requirements, and vendor agreements throughout the procurement process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Understanding of IT hardware, software licensing models (SaaS, subscription, perpetual), and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management and procurement systems.
  • Strong analytical and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into procurement actions.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data privacy considerations in vendor selection.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in IT procurement, technology sourcing, or vendor management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with IT stakeholders to gather requirements for hardware, software, and technology services.
  • Sources and evaluates vendors for IT equipment, SaaS solutions, cloud services, and licensing agreements.
  • Obtains and analyzes quotes for IT-related purchases, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and budget constraints.
  • Facilitates procurement of IT assets including laptops, servers, networking equipment, and enterprise software.
  • Coordinates with IT and Finance to track software licenses, renewals, and subscriptions.
  • Maintains records of IT assets, purchase orders, and vendor contracts; supports asset lifecycle tracking.
  • Assists with invoice reconciliation and ensures accurate billing for IT purchases and subscriptions.
  • Ensures compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and company IT standards during vendor selection and purchasing.
  • Supports vendor performance tracking and contract compliance for IT service providers.
  • Prepares reports related to IT spend, vendor performance, and procurement metrics.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technology trends and IT procurement best practices.
  • Supports corporate policies, including IT governance and security requirements.
  • Performs additional assignments as directed by management.
