About The Position

This is a non-supervisory procurement position, reporting to the Supervisor of IT Procurement within the Information Technology Department. The role involves sourcing items such as computer hardware, computer software, Licensing Agreements, and IT Professional Services. Working together with the Materials Management Organization, the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of IT Materials Management and supplier interface. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Groton, CT at the Poheganut office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or Economics
• 0-5 years of related experience working in IT procurement in a business setting
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

• Experience working in a highly-regulated industry such as DOD contracting
• Capable of independently negotiating pricing and terms with technology providers

• Evaluate, select, and on-board new suppliers based on financial risk analysis, performance review, and the ability to meet necessary requirements to contract with EB

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal requisitions for technology products and services in accordance with existing company and departmental policies
• Manage supplier relationships and act as primary point of contact to ensure continuity of technology goods and services
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve financial savings and mitigate company risk
• Responsible for bid development, cost/price analysis, composing purchase orders, & budget management, all in accordance with EB acquisition policies and procedures
• Set standards across EB and with suppliers of professionalism, sound judgement and fairness
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal regulations and internal policies and procedures to enable and ensure conformity through daily function
• Prepare well-written, succinct and compliant approval packages for management approval
