About The Position

The IT Business Partner (ITBP) serves as a critical partner with our Mission Services and TempWork program leadership in ensuring the availability, adequacy and efficiency of technology that enables our dedicated Mission and TempWork teams to sustain and grow our 50 plus Mission programs and the TempWork (GoodTemps and Janitorial) businesses. The ITBP serves as both the strategic and tactical interface with Mission Services and with the TempWork businesses to enable the use of technology to support, not only overall Mission and TempWork strategy, but also drive continuous operational and process improvements. This role partners with Mission and TempWork leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize technologically enabled projects based on predefined criteria (e.g. return on investment, productivity and compliance). This is a single contributor role, who must be able to partner and influence across our diverse organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) and/or 5+ years of IT and business/industry work experience
  • At least 3 years of IT business partnering experience or 5 years developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Track record of delivering high-value digital capability projects within timelines and budget
  • Demonstrated commitment to creative thinking and applying innovative technologies, including AI, to use cases, in achieving a balance between pragmatic value and transformation
  • Demonstrated and effective influencing skills in complex environments
  • Proven ability to operate independently and effectively in a fast-changing environment with shifting priorities
  • Exceptional leadership and project management skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to drive projects from inception to completion and post-implementation
  • Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources
  • Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills – ability to simplify complex concepts for broader understanding.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite – Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel and project management tools - Monday.com

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the not for profit sector and/or supporting services including programs for intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health, home and community-based services, pre-vocational services, or rehabilitation services, a plus
  • Knowledge of website support, data management (SQL database queries and data extraction for reporting, data warehousing) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Leverage technical, mission and business experience to listen for, and digest Mission and TempWork business needs and translate those needs into potential technological solutions for consideration.
  • Consult with Mission program and TempWork leadership to determine system functional specifications and partner with multiple management teams and other units to meet organizational objectives for current and new initiatives.
  • Work with a broad range of diverse and complicated business units and government entities in support of the Mission Programs and Services and the TempWork business model.
  • Demonstrate strength in project management fundamentals such as the creation of project plans and budgets, executing effective project management meetings, proactively identifying and managing project risk.
  • Listen for and identify gaps and needs and think critically about next steps and risk mitigation in deploying new IT solutions and maintaining and optimizing current IT solutions.
  • Deploy strong influencing skills to guide and drive projects.
  • Ensure effective project management of technology related projects and services within and across the Mission Programs and TempWork business units, including exploration of new services and/or service providers to ensure that projects yield quality results, efficiently, on-time, and on budget and in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Oversee implementation of projects from inception to completion and post-implementation to maximize the positive impact on the organization, including business analysis, planning and recommendations.
  • Create and present data, reports, and dashboards to monitor and communicate performance of critical projects to senior management.
  • Manage select vendors and vendor contracts, regularly evaluating vendor performance and ensuring high standards of service delivery to the organization.
  • Develop and implement sound rationale portfolio management and managing product phase-in-phase-out plans, proactively anticipating gaps and overlaps within the portfolio.
  • Play a key role in helping to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Partner to Mission and TempWork leadership, third party consultants and/or other internal colleagues in identifying opportunities to drive process and service improvements throughout and across Mission programs and and TempWork business units introducing and leveraging technology where appropriate to aid in deploying the newly engineered process(es).
  • Provide creative solutions to enhance efficiencies in workflow based on current and potential technology solutions.
  • Demonstrate a customer service mindset in planning and execution of projects and embed that mindset in all interactions and project planning.
  • Compile and present data, create reports and dashboards to monitor and communicate performance of IT systems in support of Mission programs and TempWork business units in a digestible manner for non-IT professionals.
  • Improve training to Mission and TempWork staff and establish operational procedures, which would include the assessment of staff technology skills, ensuring the correct training is provided thus optimizing the use of technology to increase productivity.
  • Work closely with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure infrastructure and technology is supporting Mission and TempWork business units including adherence to agreed SLAs for delivery of services.
  • Maintain oversight of the technology infrastructure for Mission programs and TempWork Business units, working with the rest of the Goodwill IT Department and the MSP on availability and interoperability of technology and systems.
  • Review IT Policies and procedures to ensure alignment with Mission and TempWork business units and other organizations audit requirements (e.g. CARF - external auditing and certifications).
  • Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes.
  • Support the administrators of work unit operating budgets; provide recommendations on desired policies and goals and implement new/revised programs according to established guidelines including supporting grant proposals for technology needs, creating cost structures and other requirements associated with the grant process.
  • Ensure adherence to various government regulations regarding utilization of technology and management of data together with the broader GW IT Team.
  • Manage the technology aspects of Mission program and TempWork business units initiation and program sunsetting processes.
