About The Position

Benesch is seeking an IT Business Analyst to join their growing team in Cleveland. This hybrid role offers work-from-home flexibility and is ideal for someone who excels at defining problems, aligning solutions, and resolving inefficiencies between technology and business units. The IT Business Analyst will act as a crucial link between the Firm's business needs and its technical capabilities, identifying, analyzing, and documenting business and system processes and requirements to enhance efficiency. By fostering strong internal partnerships, this role will ensure technology solutions support the Firm's strategic goals, driving innovation and improving user experience. The position requires a collaborative, detail-oriented professional adept at transforming business processes into actionable technology solutions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent work experience in IT and business/industry roles, with at least 2 years of experience in business analysis or business relationship management.
  • Demonstrated experience with business process analysis and improvement.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to map, analyze, and optimize business processes, as well as implement innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management principles.
  • Proactive, customer-oriented mindset with a focus on driving solutions and achieving results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and build consensus among diverse teams.
  • Experience in change management, particularly in implementing new systems or processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with full-service law firm technologies and processes is a plus.
  • Change management certification (ProSci CMP or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, data flows, and system landscapes, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Document current and future-state processes, develop functional and technical requirements, and create workflows to support project execution in partnership with PMO resources.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, identify gaps, and develop functional consensus among stakeholders.
  • Oversee the requirements gathering and documentation of functional and technical specifications for projects.
  • Work closely with PMO to turn these requirements into detailed project plans.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to eliminate system complexities, improve user experience, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with key business and technical stakeholders, including attorneys, administrative staff, and professional teams, to understand business needs, strategies, and priorities.
  • Contribute to regular discussions to identify opportunities for IT to deliver value through innovation, process improvement, or enhanced capabilities.
  • Serve as a collaborative bridge between the IT department and the Firm's business units to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Ensure end-user satisfaction by translating business needs into IT deliverables and maintaining open lines of communication throughout projects.
  • Support the Firm's change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems, tools, or processes.
  • Assist in creating user training materials and conducting training sessions for end-users and technical teams.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Firm's key applications, including legal practice management systems, document management systems, timekeeping tools, and collaboration platforms.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, user manuals, and documentation for application systems and workflows.
