About The Position

Shell is seeking experienced and safety focused IT/ACR Technicians to support offshore production operations in the Gulf of America. This role is responsible for the safety, reliability, and compliant operation and maintenance of instrumentation, automation, control, and information systems critical to offshore facilities. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong personal safety leadership, technical discipline, and commitment to Shell’s values, One GoA Mindset, and operating standards.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent required GED required
  • Recent Offshore Upstream Gulf of America (GoA) experience, with current contractor experience supporting Shell’s Gulf of America operations
  • Demonstrated experience in Instrumentation, Automation, Controls, or Industrial IT environments
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Ability to work in offshore conditions, including climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, and working outdoors
  • Successful completion of the Shell Operations Aptitude Test (within 5 days of submitting application)
  • Fulfillment of asset ‑ specific IT/ACR competency and training requirements, based on business needs
  • Certified NCCER Instrumentation Technician
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)
  • Ability to pass pre ‑ employment medical evaluation, drug screen, and background check
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms and grating
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot offshore instrumentation, automation, and control systems
  • Support maintenance of PLCs, DCS, safety instrumented systems (SIS), fire & gas systems, and process control networks
  • Maintain IT/ACR safety ‑ critical and environmental barriers in alignment with SEMS and the SEAM Framework
  • Perform loop checks, testing, calibrations, and functional testing of instruments and control systems
  • Support fault finding, system diagnostics, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Participate in permit ‑ to ‑ work, system isolations, and lock ‑ out/tag ‑ out activities
  • Support commissioning, upgrades, and system readiness activities
  • Exercise Stop Work authority and actively promote a strong safety and compliance culture
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Digital teams to ensure safe and reliable operations
