About The Position

Shell is seeking experienced and safety focused Electricians to support offshore production operations in the Gulf of America. This role is responsible for the safe, reliability, and compliant operation and maintenance of offshore electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong personal safety leadership, technical discipline, and commitment to Shell’s values, One GoA Mindset, and operating standards.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent required GED required
  • Recent Offshore Upstream Gulf of America (GoA) experience, with current contractor experience supporting Shell’s Gulf of America operations
  • Demonstrated experience in Electrical environments
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Ability to work in offshore conditions, including climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, and working outdoors
  • Successful completion of the Shell Operations Aptitude Test (within 5 days of submitting application)
  • Fulfillment of asset ‑ specific Electrical competency and training requirements, based on business needs
  • Certified NCCER – Industrial Electrician
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)
  • Ability to pass pre ‑ employment medical evaluation, drug screen, and background check
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms and grating
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot offshore electrical power generation and distribution systems
  • Perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment including motors, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, UPS systems, and emergency power systems
  • Maintain electrical safety ‑ critical and environmental barriers in alignment with SEMS and the SEAM Framework
  • Support fault finding, electrical isolation, lock ‑ out/tag ‑ out, and permit ‑ to - work activities.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report abnormal conditions or equipment deficiencies
  • Execute routine and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance management systems
  • Support commissioning, testing, and equipment readiness activities as required
  • Exercise Stop Work authority and actively promote a strong safety and compliance culture
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure safe and reliable operations
