About The Position

DeKalb County Central United School District is seeking an ISS (In School Suspension) Paraprofessional at DeKalb High School. Requirements

H.S. Diploma or equivalency.
Understanding of student behavior management strategies and techniques.
Familiarity with routine record management, storage, and retrieval systems and procedures.
Demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment.
Ability to learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures.
Understanding of appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling and grammar, and basic math concepts.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Responsibilities

Assist with a variety of instructional activities.
Assist in the conduct of student learning experiences.
Perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel.
Assist individual students to reinforce and follow up on learning activities.
Monitor and assist students in practice and study activities.
Direct students to safe learning activities and functions.
Assist in the management of student behavior through the use of positive strategies and techniques.
Prepare and assist in the preparation of a variety of instructional materials and learning aids.
Maintain a variety of records and files, including confidential student records and information.
Maintain student record confidentiality.
Assist in maintaining an orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment.
