About The Position
At Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP), Multi-Intensive (MI) Center Paraprofessionals are crucial in ensuring scholars with significant cognitive, behavioral, and communication needs receive rigorous, joyful, and fully accessible learning experiences. This role is grounded in RMP’s commitment to equity, love, and high expectations. You will provide highly individualized academic, behavioral, communication, and daily living support aligned with each scholar’s IEP. This includes implementing intensive behavior and sensory plans, supporting Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and other communication systems, reinforcing structured routines, and delivering personal care with dignity and respect. Through trauma-informed practices, strong collaboration with teachers and service providers, and a belief in every scholar’s potential, you will help create a safe, inclusive environment where scholars feel seen, valued, and empowered. The goal is to build foundational skills, independence, and confidence, enabling scholars to grow, connect, and thrive.
Requirements
- Provide evidence of completing high school or a GED
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States

- Previous experience working with scholars with disabilities
- Experience working with high school students and diverse populations
- CPI/NCI trained
Responsibilities
- Support instruction and student learning by implementing lesson plans, providing accommodations/modifications, collecting data, and working with individuals or small groups under teacher direction.
- Reinforce routines, behavior expectations, and social-emotional skills to promote student independence and uphold classroom and school-wide systems.
- Supervise students to ensure safety during all parts of the school day, including transitions, lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal.
- Collaborate and communicate professionally with lead teachers, school staff, and families to support student success and school goals.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and equity-minded practices that honor student dignity and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Provide personal and medical care as trained (e.g., toileting, hygiene, monitoring) while maintaining student dignity and safety.
- Implement intensive behavior plans and de-escalation strategies using trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices.
- Support communication systems (including AAC), functional life skills, and instructional activities by proactively meeting student needs and taking initiative within daily routines.
- Remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced MI setting, using feedback and creative problem-solving to adapt supports and continuously improve practice.
