About The Position

The Isolation Filling and Controls Technician role entails the preventive maintenance of Isolation filling equipment/systems used for the filling and conveyance of liquid-filled sterile containers. This role supports the assembly, troubleshooting, and qualification of automated systems with a focus on electrical, software, and control systems. The technician will read electrical schematics, assemble and install machines and subassemblies, troubleshoot and wire control panels, and install pneumatic plumbing. They will also troubleshoot, install, and repair sensors, actuators, relays, and basic I/O connections, perform basic electrical troubleshooting and replace faulty components, and make adjustments to PLC logic for improved machine operation with engineering support. Additionally, the role involves performing equipment preventive maintenance, identifying and correcting unsafe conditions, maintaining safety expectations by working safely and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), correcting/reporting unsafe behaviors or equipment, maintaining housekeeping of their work area, assisting department supervision to ensure departmental goals are met, and performing any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational, trade school certification or associate’s degree highly preferred.
  • 0-2 years of previous relevant experience in a manufacturing working environment, technical diploma or applicable certifications, required.
  • Use of small hand tools, multi-meter and laptop interface.
  • Knowledge of 3phase electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, solid state relays, and transformers.
  • Able to read and understand engineering electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Able to follow instructions and document activities as outlined in SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures).
  • Working knowledge of PLC based control systems.
  • Willingness to learn/train on the Isolator liquid filling machines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Microsoft Office and Windows skills.
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts and off hours during shutdown plus some overtime.
  • This position is part of a multi-shift operation and may require assignment to a regular, or off shift and/or weekends to support the production schedule.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot manufacturing machinery.
  • Understanding of safety programs (e.g. Lock out / Tag out, line breaking).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of 120V- 208V AC/ 3-24VDC, troubleshooting down to electronic components is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Knowledgeable in cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), preferred.
