About The Position

Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc. (CHNCT) is currently seeking an IS Business Systems Analyst. This is a full-time, hybrid position with a schedule that includes two on-site days per week at our Wallingford, CT office. The IS Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will work as a liaison between the Information Systems team and other business areas to understand and translate needs and requirements. Projects will range from minor enhancements to major enterprise level projects. The BSA will support several business intelligences developers by providing clear and concise requirements documents, user stories, test plans, and quality assurance testing.

Requirements

  • 1 to 5 years related experience in a business information systems background ideally in a healthcare industry setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing projects of varying priority to meet company objectives and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of common system development lifecycle methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall

Nice To Haves

  • Technical skills in desktop computers and business intelligence tools such as: SQL Server, MS Excel, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, web-based applications, and similar programs desired.
  • Familiar with availability and use of business intelligence technologies, programming languages, and database systems/architecture required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate to all levels of CHNCT and external personnel.
  • Business Analyst, CBAP, and/or PMP certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the subject matter expert in business systems and technologies used within the organization.
  • Owns the creation and maintenance of various systems development artifacts including functional specification, technical specifications, test plans, user guides, user stories, and workflow documents.
  • Oversees the development, testing, and implementation of business intelligence specifications.
  • Analyzes business systems and data to investigate incidents and recommend solutions.
  • Maintains advanced level of understanding of business intelligence development tools, methodologies, and techniques to effectively work with customers and developers.
  • Leads meetings, guides participants, organizes content, and keeps group on track regarding deliverables.
  • Obtains and documents required customer specifications and determine feasibility.
  • Gathers, receives and interprets data, analysis, and reports needed for analyzing and supporting business systems and client data needs.
  • Validates reports, systems, and software to ensure accuracy and integrity of information, data and functionality.
  • Communicate system modifications, system implementation, and data analysis results to stakeholders.
  • Leverage technical expertise to thoroughly investigate reported incidents that involve business systems and reporting abnormalities, failures, or defects.
