The University of Rochester is seeking an IR Technologist I-Inpatient to join their Imaging Sciences-Angio department. This is a full-time, regular position with a scheduled weekly hour of 40. The role is responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted and utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients and their families to create a caring atmosphere during their visit. The position is part of a career ladder with three bands, differentiated by independence, supervision, certification, ability to precept, and leadership in meeting departmental goals. Band One (I) is for non-certified technologists new to the IR Department requiring training and supervision. Band Two (II) is for certified technologists with minimal supervision, responsible for setup, patient care, and administrative tasks, with additional duties like equipment evaluations and committee work. Band Three (III) is for advanced technologists who independently manage procedures, patient care, administrative tasks, and act as primary preceptors, subject matter experts, and super-users for new equipment. Band Three Technologists are proficient in all IR areas and may rotate through the Tech of the Day role, coordinating assignments and ensuring cohesion with nursing and medical staff. Select Band Three Technologists may be designated as Leads to support operations and assist supervisors.
