About The Position

Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted. Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit. Progresses towards proficient and competent performance with regards to interventional procedures, fluoroscopy room equipment, digital subtraction, inventory, power injections and post processing tools.

Requirements

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist upon hire required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with CE credits upon hire required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
  • Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors to produce a high-quality image.
  • Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
  • Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
  • Observes each patient’s status and interprets appropriate information needed to meet age-specific needs.
  • Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transfer boards, hover mats.
  • Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
