About The Position

Polsinelli is seeking an IP Assistant to support its IP Department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, engaging professional who thrives in a professional environment and wants to be part of a dynamic team. The position emphasizes learning Intellectual Property rules and guidelines, demonstrating exceptional typing skills, and effectively managing priorities and deadlines. The IP Assistant will maintain and update files, potentially assist with IP portfolio analysis, client letters, patent formalities, Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), client estimates, accruals, and invoicing. Proficiency in specific software and Microsoft programs is required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe
  • 1+ year of administrative or client service experience preferred
  • Proficient in iManage, InTapp, Chrome River, and Microsoft programs Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate interest in learning Intellectual Property rules and guidelines
  • Exceptional typing skills; ability to draft and/or edit documents accurately and quickly
  • Effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage assigned projects
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task (i.e., calendaring, meeting coordination, timesheet entries, grammar, and patent particulars (names, dates, titles))
  • Critical thinker who works efficiently, using available technology and striving to make tasks easier and more efficient
  • Maintain and update files, including file openings
  • May assist with IP portfolio analysis and presentations
  • May assist with preparation and reporting of client letters and patent formalities, as well as Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) preparation and management
  • May assist with client estimates and accruals, as well as invoicing
  • Proficient in iManage, InTapp, Chrome River, and Microsoft programs Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Attend any required training by the firm’s training department and/or the IP Department
  • Other duties as assigned
