iOS Engineer, Growth Team

As a member of Substack's Growth team, you will be responsible for building mobile features that attract and support writers on the platform. This includes improving discovery, language and payment options, and enhancing the overall experience for both readers and writers. You will collaborate with various teams and work closely with customers to understand their needs and solve their problems. The role requires at least 5 years of software engineering experience, expertise in iOS app development, and the ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.

• Develop features that help writers make more money on Substack.
• Own full-stack features, including both client-side work in the Substack iOS app (Swift) and backend work (Node / TypeScript).
• Collaborate with the iOS engineering team to define and ship architectural patterns for the iOS client.
• Collaborate with designers, writers, support staff, and many others.
• Work directly with customers to solve their problems.
• Hold yourself and others to a high standard when working on production systems.
• Take pride in building elegant and delightful product experiences.

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience
• Experience shipping high quality iOS apps to the App Store
