About The Position

The Video Applications team develops video products including Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, and iMovie. The Software Engineer will design and implement high-quality features for video editing applications used by creative professionals. The role involves tackling complex technical challenges with frameworks and technologies across iOS and macOS, and collaborating with engineers across the Video Apps teams to advance professional video editing on Apple devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience with SwiftUI/Swift or UIKit/AppKit.
• Comfort working in large, mature Objective-C codebases.
• Strong understanding of software engineering and computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design principles, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience owning a framework, SDK, or shared technical component end to end, including API design, implementation, cross-team adoption, and evolution across releases.
• Ability to break down large features into practical, implementable solutions.
• Experience working on large, cross-functional, multi-team projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a highly collaborative environment.
• Self-directed problem solver able to work independently and drive initiatives to completion.
