About The Position

The Investment Management Operations Summer Intern will learn a new or expand an existing skill set and knowledge base, and/or complete a project that is critical to the success of the group, department or firm. During the internship, you will be matched with a mentor who will help with your assimilation into the firm and provide career advice. Upon successful completion of your internship, you will have the opportunity to present to a committee of senior Operations & Technology executives. Operations delivers a wide range of middle and back office support to all of AllianceBernstein’s investment services (equities, fixed income, alternative investments) as well as distribution channels (institutional clients, individuals and private clients). You will work with the front office and portfolio management as well with various custodian banks and vendors, and provide regional support in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Interns will be placed in one of the following teams: Derivative Operations, Client Guideline Management, Global Portfolio Administration, Private Client Administration, Reference Data Services, Fixed Income – Alternatives Operations, Operational Risk, or Alternatives Infrastructure & Operations.

Requirements

  • December 2026 or May/June 2027 Bachelor’s degree candidates in finance, economics, business administration or related fields
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (must be able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Client Focus and an interest in serving our firm’s internal clients
  • Interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency, improve data quality, strengthen risk management, and support informed business decision-making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Aspiration for a career in management operations

Responsibilities

  • Present to a committee of senior Operations & Technology executives upon successful completion of the internship.
  • Provide operational and administrative processing support for Derivatives Trading and Investment Management.
  • Code investment restrictions into compliance tools and monitor potential guideline breaches.
  • Perform account administration, such as bank reconciliations and account transitions.
  • Serve as an operational liaison to Private Client Sales and Portfolio Management.
  • Maintain core data for all AB processes, such as security setup, pricing, corporate actions, class actions and account setup.
  • Implement and maintain an operational model to support AB’s expanding Private Credit Products.
  • Develop key risk and performance indicators.
  • Support alternative investment products and complex fund structures.
