About The Position

WoodmenLife is seeking an Investment Intern for its 10-week Summer Internship Program. This role will provide broad exposure to the Investment division by contributing to routine and project-based work. The intern will gain practical experience in institutional asset management within an insurance company, assisting with mortgage loan servicing data and credit profile development. The program aims to integrate interns who bring fresh perspectives, contribute to value-added work, and enhance the talent pipeline, offering real-world experience and mentorship to prepare them for meaningful careers.

Requirements

  • Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college with an area of study in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or a related degree program.
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Ability to work 38.75 hours per week.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while working collaboratively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to review, organize, and interpret financial and business information.
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment when handling business and financial information.
  • The ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive, and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Gain broad exposure to the WoodmenLife organization by meeting weekly with the Internship Cohort, Executive Leadership, and division-level leaders.
  • Summarize and present a capstone presentation of the internship experience, including project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.
  • Support the Mortgage Loan Annual Servicing Project by reviewing property performance updates for over 500 mortgage loans.
  • Enter reviewed property performance information into the mortgage servicing software accurately and completely.
  • Assist the Securities team with developing and maintaining credit profiles for debt issuers.
  • Organize financial, issuer, and supporting information used by investment professionals in servicing and credit review activities.
  • Complete assigned routine and project-based work within established timelines and communicate questions or issues to the intern leader or appropriate team member.
  • Protect confidential business and financial information and follow applicable procedures and internal controls.
  • Use available technology, including approved AI tools in an ethical and responsible manner.
  • Meet attendance and punctuality expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
