About The Position

Federated Insurance is seeking an Investment Analyst Intern for the Summer of 2027. This role involves conducting research on existing and prospective investments, analyzing risks and opportunities, and developing investment recommendations. Interns will gain exposure to industry and asset class research, credit underwriting, relative value analysis, portfolio management, and the factors that influence real-world investment decisions. The internship will also provide foundational knowledge of fixed income markets, including instruments, bond mathematics, yield curves, risk factors, and debt capital markets. Interns will collaborate with team members, receive coaching and mentorship, and contribute to projects supporting the Investment Team. A key deliverable will be a formal investment recommendation presented to the Investment Team at the conclusion of the internship.

Requirements

  • Be a college junior with a strong academic record.
  • Demonstrated interest in investments, financial markets, and business analysis.
  • Possess strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Be able to organize information, think critically, and communicate conclusions clearly.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be comfortable taking initiative while also being receptive to coaching and feedback.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.
  • Be able to maintain the confidentiality of business and personnel information.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Cannot sponsor candidates for employment visa status, such as an H1-B visa.
  • Will not interview or hire students or recent graduates with J-1 or F-1 visas or similar temporary work authorization.

Responsibilities
