About The Position

The Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) is seeking two Investment Analyst Interns for Summer 2027. Interns will assist the INPRS Investment Team in managing a multi-billion dollar investment portfolio. Responsibilities may include involvement in asset allocation, risk management, strategy evaluation, investment manager due diligence and selection, and portfolio monitoring, depending on project availability. Interns will interact with institutional-quality external investment managers across various asset classes such as public/private equity, fixed income, commodity, real estate, and absolute return.

Requirements

  • Considerable skill in research and analysis of large amounts of information, performing analysis of the information.
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to manage workload in a dynamic environment and in completing work with a high degree of detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate project progress and final results to the investment team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, agency staff, and external contacts.
  • Considerable skill with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of basic investment concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical concepts.

  • Related internship experience is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and complete special projects related to the ongoing development of the INPRS investment program.
  • Provide support in portfolio analysis.
  • Review portfolio risk / return profile and performance through research and analysis of portfolio strategies, securities holdings, and performance attribution analysis.
  • Assist in the research and evaluation of the manager universe to help identify candidates for inclusion in the strategic asset allocation.
