About The Position

Investment banking at Goldman Sachs involves working on complex financial challenges and transactions, including advising on mergers, providing financial solutions for acquisitions, and structuring initial public offerings. The Global Healthcare group specifically advises clients across various healthcare sub-sectors such as Biotechnology, Diagnostics/Life Sciences, Healthcare Information Technology, Healthcare Services, Medical Devices, and Pharmaceuticals. This group offers a full suite of investment banking services globally, including M&A, divestitures, equity and debt financings, financial restructurings, and risk management. As a Vice President, the role involves originating and deepening client relationships, leading daily deal execution, and managing teams to produce high-quality analysis and materials. The Vice President will structure and execute M&A and capital markets transactions, act as a trusted client advisor, and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 4+ years of investment banking experience, or bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of investment banking (or equivalent) experience
  • History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
  • Healthcare sector expertise across one or more of the following: Biotechnology, Diagnostics/Life Sciences, Healthcare Information Technology, Healthcare Services, Medical Devices, and Pharmaceuticals
  • Demonstrated experience executing buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, as well as equity and debt financings
  • Strong track record of leading the end-to-end execution of M&A and financing transactions in an advisory role, including drafting client materials and managing diligence, valuation, and process workstreams
  • 2+ years of experience leading deal teams of analysts and associates
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate junior talent
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with comfort presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic, high motivation, and exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Personal integrity, sound judgment, initiative, and leadership
  • Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and serve as a reliable point of contact
