About The Position

Withum's Investment Banking team is seeking two Summer Interns to support its growing middle market advisory practice. Interns will gain exposure to mergers and acquisitions, capital advisory, and corporate finance initiatives while assisting on active transactions and strategic projects. The team works closely with family- and founder-owned middle market companies, delivering tailored solutions across the full transaction lifecycle from strategic alternatives and transaction readiness through execution and close.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Rising Senior preferred
  • Strong academic performance (preferred GPA 3.5+)
  • Demonstrated interest in investment banking, corporate finance, or transactions
  • Previous internship in investment banking preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Support financial analysis, including valuation and Excel-based modeling
  • Conduct industry, company, and market research to support client engagements
  • Assist in preparing pitch materials, presentations, and client deliverables
  • Provide support on transaction execution activities, including due diligence and coordination
  • Contribute to projects related to mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, and strategic transactions
  • Assist with internal initiatives supporting the growth of the investment banking practice
  • Assist in building and updating financial models and valuation analyses
  • Analyze historical and projected financial performance of target companies
  • Develop company profiles, buyer lists, and market mapping materials
  • Support preparation of marketing materials and transaction documentation
  • Conduct comparable company and precedent transaction analysis
  • Assist with tracking deal pipeline activity and internal reporting
  • Support capital formation, financing, and corporate finance-related research
  • Contribute to research and materials related to transaction readiness and exit planning
