Investment Banking M&A Associate – New York
About The Position
Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate to join its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Department in their New York office. The M&A Department is responsible for structuring and executing a wide range of complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, spin-offs, joint-ventures, asset swaps, and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts. The group collaborates closely with the firm’s Industry coverage groups across sectors. The Associate will work closely with professionals throughout the firm to deliver high-quality advice to clients and will play an important role on a team that includes senior professionals who will encourage creative thinking beyond the numbers.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience within the investment banking industry as an Analyst and Associate, or an MBA, with a proven track record working on executed deals across M&A and various industry sectors
- Extraordinarily high level of motivation and commitment to working hard
- Expertise in reading and interpreting financial statements
- Experience modeling related to all relevant transactions
- Strong written and verbal communication, client and interpersonal skills
- Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Series licensing or must obtain
Nice To Haves
- An MBA and/or CFA designation would be an asset.
- Relevant degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or related field or foreign equivalent preferred.
