About The Position

Piper Sandler is seeking a first-year Analyst to join their Equity Private Placements team in Minneapolis, MN. This team is one of the longest tenured private placement groups on Wall Street, leveraging experience and market knowledge across all Piper Sandler focus industries to tailor fundraising processes for clients. The Analyst will gain exposure to various transactions, including late-stage growth, minority recap, acquisition capital, and strategic financings. The role involves supporting the team in sourcing private capital, ranging from common equity to preferred equity to structured capital, from institutional investors. Analysts will provide critical support throughout transaction execution, assist in developing financial models and valuation analyses, build pro forma cap tables and waterfall analyses, coordinate due diligence, conduct research, and interface with senior bankers, clients, and investors. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or other related degrees required
  • Strong work ethic, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and learn quickly
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • U.S. work eligibility is required. Candidates must be work authorized in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. For this role, we cannot offer employment to F-1 (student) visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical support during all phases of transaction execution
  • Assist in developing operating financial models and valuation analyses
  • Build extensive pro forma cap table and waterfall analyses
  • Coordinate transaction due diligence
  • Conduct various research specific to industry, company, and growth / structured equity
  • Interface directly with senior bankers, clients, and investors
  • Develop a versatile skillset that will serve as a strong foundation for achieving career goals
