About The Position

The Investment Analyst works directly with Consultants to provide investment advisory services to client investment pools (e.g., pension funds). They are responsible for leading the client investment portfolio reporting process, establishing and maintaining knowledge of a broad range of investment products and managers, and contributing to market and economic research and other company initiatives. The Investment Analyst is involved in all aspects of the investment consulting process and has direct interaction with the clients and client providers (e.g., custodian banks, actuaries, etc.). The Investment Analyst is expected to have a high level of general investment knowledge and, ideally (but not necessarily), be familiar with the investment consulting and/or investment management industries. Additionally, candidates should have two or more years of relevant experience and be a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter holder, or making progress toward their charter(s).

Requirements

  • MBA, CFA Program, and/or CAIA Program designee or enrollee
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in the finance or investment industry
  • Sound understanding of economic and investment theory and practices
  • Solid quantitative skills, including proficiency with financial and statistical concepts
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to gather, organize, and interpret data from disparate sources
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
  • Collaborate productively with colleagues from other company departments and offices, as well as external client providers

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally (but not necessarily), be familiar with the investment consulting and/or investment management industries.
  • Making progress toward their charter(s) (CFA or CAIA).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance reporting process for assigned clients, including report preparation, financial data analysis, and generating recommendations while collaborating effectively with client team members.
  • Gather, verify, and organize client-related investment data using financial and statistical concepts from disparate sources related to client accounts and investment managers and strategies.
  • Participate regularly (virtually or in-person) in client meetings for assigned clients.
  • Travel periodically, up to 10% of the time.
  • Utilize investment-related tools and software to aid in the evaluation of client investment structures and in the formulation of recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Consultants in the production of client investment policy statements, asset allocation policies, and other related advisory services.
  • Assist Consultants in all aspects of client fund coordination projects, such as asset transfers and manager transition, while interacting with investment managers, custody banks, and other client vendors, as needed.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the quality and efficiency of the company’s investment advisory services.
  • Contribute to the firm’s research, marketing, and other initiatives, as needed.
  • Fulfill any and all other duties deemed necessary by management.
