The Investment Analyst is a key foundational role on the Internal Fixed Income (IFI) team. The incumbent will collaborate with all members of the team and gain broad experience as they help to support all the strategies that comprise the IFI program, both internally managed and externally managed portfolios. In addition to regularly occurring program level responsibilities, this individual may also be tasked with ad hoc research projects. The Investment Analyst is an important contributor to the management of the fixed income program and over time will have opportunities to grow into responsibilities with direct impact on the investment decision making process, as well as specialize in a particular fixed income sector. Continued education and training are highly encouraged for the continued development of knowledge and skills, including but not limited to obtaining a CFA charter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required by time of hire, or significant progress towards a Bachelor's degree ideally in math/statistics, economics, finance, computer science, or engineering. An equivalent combination of education or experience may also be considered.
  • 0-2+ years’ experience in data analysis; academic experience may also be considered.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting datasets to support decision making.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for continued learning.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Growth oriented with a strong work ethic and demonstration of those traits through either academic or professional achievements.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Integrity and respect towards their work, themselves, and others.
  • Desire to work with a small, close-knit, high performing team.
  • Prior experience with or interest in developing expertise in SQL and potentially Python.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and strong comfortability with statistics and/or mathematics.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Python and/or SQL.
  • Experience with fixed income generally, or securitized products specifically.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Blackrock’s Aladdin, and/or asset management or fixed income software.
